I visited the Henderson Heritage farm last spring. I remember being in the church and a speaker had said, what I thought, was that each family brought their own pew to church. Did I misunderstand this? Did each family have their own pew or bench at church, but not actually pack them up and take them home each Sunday? My husband insists I misunderstood and I can’t find anything to correlate to this anywhere on the internet.
Yes, that is right; families had their own benches but I don’t think they brought them each week.
Is there a children’s book about the Russian Mennonite immigration to Henderson? I would like to share the family history with my grandchildren.
I would like to buy two books, but will need them shipped to Portland, OR. The two books are the Henderson Mennonites; and Forever Summer, Forever Sunday
